Intro

Feb is short right? That can be my excuse? That I didn’t do much? Or maybe I did i just didn’t show you any of it…Every month when I write these letters i look back through the instagram and see what I posted and am disappointed in myself because I then look through my phone and see I did all sorts. Feb was a bit of a reflective month in all. I didn’t get much chance to do that reflection though so lets dig into the how’s and whys and make March a bit more engaging shall we?

Last month I mentioned i’m working on things and that is correct! in the last couple of months I’ve finished a sculpture and three paintings and been toying with some other ideas to potentially see what I can do now I’ve all but decided to abandon commerce for art unless requested.

March is a bit of an open month in that sense but I’m hoping within it I find some time work progress Birt which if you’re a Patreon member I’ll be walking through the origin of Birt and some easter eggs in the coming months posts along side slowly revealing the work I finished this month.

One thing it did do this month was snow an absolute pile!

Podcast

Something from this month though was I sat down with Tricia Duffy! So a bit of extra insight is good here. Every so often people reach out to me about the podcast. It does not happen often at all. But more savvy and business minded artists have something I’m told is called representation?

Well Tricia’s rep reached out to me and asked if i’d be interested in having her on the show. I’m always a little cautious with this as some people I’ve had on did not “get” the idea of the show and instead just want to promote promote promote. Which anyone who has watched any of it will know does not work. We have way to many other tangents to discuss. But I figured i’d give Tricia some space after reading up on her and it turned into a generally lovely chat about class, experience and artistic practice so was happy to have her on!

So what’s in the pipeline?

This is actually a commission! One which i’ve made, completed and spend the sum i got for it on buying someone else’s art work. Which is how the art world works by the way it’s a combination of artists getting money and spending said money on further art and thus continuing the cycle. I’ll be talking more about it in upcoming patreon posts but for now you can see some real basics here.

Well I did and in doing so I’ve been working on what is probably the closest self piece i’ve made in a long while. I’ll be digging into this one further as well in the future.

And that’s some what it for feb as I say i’ll be spending much of March slow releasing things and trying to find some exhibit opportunities but otherwise I just hope you’re warm and well and that you dont think the recent art dad vids i’ve been doing are as cringe as i feel doing them XD
