Catch up - Work is hectic

As some of you know I have a regular job. And that job is doing it’s best to eat me right now. Problem is I’m not easy to digest. Basically toxic and my job didn’t realise that. So In May I’ll hope to be back to full speed but for the moment I’m a little behind on my art.

Podcast

It was celeb episode time! After chatting to Bob Cronin he managed to get me in touch with Dave McWane which may not be a big name to you but is a big name to me! Back when my jeans were baggy and I was learning power chords Big D and The Kids table was in my heavy rotation with Reel Big fish, Spunge and many other ska punk bands and it was great to sit down with him and talk industry and the reality for a lot of creators.

What’s interesting is I saw no backlash to my Simpson episode. But what I did get was several artists reaching out to me about this Episode. It seems I hit a nerve in terms of people who create and how they create can impact the rest of what they do! I’m never really sure what my audience is when I make a solo episode. Most of what I make I make for me so it was incredibly gratifying to learn it resonated with more creators.

Coke-Oven

Something I did do in March despite the hectic schedule is relaunch Coke-Oven! If you didn’t know it’s a space a setup to catalogue zines and make a directory for creators to find other Zine makers. It’s free not for profit and I was able to improve it greatly by asking a friend from work to help me code some of it! I’d love for you to check it out as I added some resources and new pages to it!

Excited to see it grow.

Null Point

I Also brought back Null Point! If you didn’t know Null Point is a little Zine i created and maintain with help. Taking an open topic and letting people respond to it to continue to encourage the people of the world to make something. Especially the people who don’t often!
