Finding out what happened to April.
How is it May! Also why is it so damn warm?

It would seem I’m finding my feet
This is a small digression. As mentioned last month I’ve been busy and I refuse to be one of those artists who complains about feeling guilt for not creating. I’ve been busy, I need to work I have extortionate rent to pay and all those cravats will not pay for themselves.
Work will come when it comes but thanks for opening this letter! In fact really right now the problem I have is wondering what to make next. As anyone who makes knows when you’re in an intense period of not making your brain backs up the ideas and then catalogues them and you become a bit kneecapped by choice. Where to spend your time and how to approach things when you want to do all the things. So that’s where my head is at.
Not to mention living where I do can add a flavor of need to make and making seems a bit redundant when there is so much needing to be addressed. Suffice to say I’m having a bit of a introspection time.
Podcast
I had the pleasure of having Kyran on the show recently. He’s a friend of a friend but always a good chap to chat too. He’s a stand up comedian with high anxiety and a fear of performing but damn he’s inciteful. We took a moment to talk about DIY nights and how starting something small in a smaller market can be a challenge as there is no guarantee of an audience and that often can feel like defeat.
I got a little on the floor and discussed problem solving. This was an interesting one as I finished recording it and didn’t really feel like i’d made a point. As does happen with my solo recordings. It’s hard to keep track of what I’ve said where and I had to watch it back and think…Could I have made this point better? But five likes on youtube later I think I did ok! I think that’s a record for my solo casts actually.
Wait is that it?
It sort of is! This month I really haven’t had the space to make. It’s all been in my brain stuff and that’s hard to show off. I did an experiment with molds in March and began doodling some parts for other things but sometimes it’s just like that. You didn’t miss much. So really thanks for paying attention to the bits I did!
One more thing. Null Point mailing list.
I mentioned it before but I have kicked Null Point back into action. And as much as you don’t like e-mail if you’re interested in getting the topic for each NP open call delivered direct to your inbox there is a way to get it. and that’s signing up to the mailing list.
Every two months you’ll get a call for what’s next and hopefully it’ll trigger some creatives and non day to day creators to push out their shell and see what they can make!
Thanks again and stay safe out there folks!
