Pankcake day

It’s the end of January which means during this month we’ve had a couple of episodes for you to catch up with and some new illustrations coming through for you too but first we got the reminder that on February 16th you’re welcome to Join us for Pankcake day!

Pankcake day is a day formed from a mistake. Two years ago now I added “Pancake day” to the calendar. However I didn’t spell it like that did I? I spelt it Pankcake day due to my lack of proof reading skills! However rather than worry about my lack of reading comprehension I formed a new day to mark the occasion! Therefore every February 16th we celebrate Pankcake day. Just enough time for you to get over Valentines and remind yourself you may have missed Shrove Tuesday. If you’re interested in participating in the day it’s quite simple you simply need to engage in the following item.

Calm: Take some time to yourself, 20 mins or so to to just relax. Listen to some music, have a long bath, just lock yourself in the bathroom to escape the kids? You name it, it counts.

Considerate: Pay it forward, Do someone else’s chore, give a pal a call to check on them. Just do something for someone else and make their day better.

Cathartic: Perhaps the most ambitious part of the day I encourage you to make something. Anything! Bake a cake, Paint a painting, draw a doodle. Just do something to create and engage in that little part of yourself which finds release through creation.

And it’s as simple as that! No pressure to perform no need to share but if you’d like to just pop a tag on it and I’ll pay it forward and share it out!

Podcast

This Month we engaged in the new cadence of shows, with episodes coming out every other week. Kicking of the year with as usual my Brother and this year featuring his new partner in crime Amy! aka. Altadventures on youtube who have just begun getting involved with video content.

We followed that up with the usual nonsense from me discussing aptly the beginning of the year and how having too many ideas can be hindering so attempting to offer some advice on combating that!

Alright admittedly I have caved. Now this is no need for you to join as I’ll just be reposting everything I usually post to insta but if you’re so inclined you can now follow me on Tiktok if you like?

New Illustration

If you didn’t hear I did a collab! Pocket thoughts Zine, who has previously been on the podcast is run by Ryan who is a delightful man from Canada. Every year he does an annual to show of zinesters to demonstrate their work. So I put together a quick illustration to show myself off!. Something I’m notoriously bad at doing. Suffice to say this proved a bit of a challenge. Mainly as I couldn’t figure out the right vibe of what I was doing. But in the end I worked out something eluding to the writers block!

Nullpoint theme

If you didn’t know. I also run a small Zine called Nullpoint. Every month we take submissions from the public and in doing so create a collaborative Zine which then gets distributed to the world for essentially free! The whole idea being to encourage creativity without fear.

This month the subject is :Dreams we’ve had.

Summary

And that’s the round up! What you should know however is that the store will reopen in Feb with a big old sale on as we pivot into different products and try to find a balance between creation and commerce. But mainly I want to say thanks for signing up and coming along for the ride!
